Trip Plan

Day 01 :
Machame Gate to Machame Camp (2,980m)

Begin your trek at Machame Gate. Hike through lush rainforest, with an approximate 7-hour walk, before reaching Machame Camp at 2,980m. Dinner and overnight stay at camp.

Day 02 :
Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,840m)

A 5–7 hour trek through heath and moorland terrain leads you to Shira Camp on a high plateau with stunning mountain views. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03 :
Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (3,900m)

Today’s 7–8 hour trek crosses rugged landscapes with dramatic scenery. Descend to Barranco Camp at 3,900m, surrounded by the iconic Barranco Wall. Overnight stay at camp.

Day 04 :
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m)

A shorter, 3–4 hour trek across ridges and valleys. Arrive at Karanga Camp at 3,995m, your acclimatization point. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05 :
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,600m)

Ascend to Barafu Camp (4,600m) in about 5 hours. Prepare for the summit push with rest and an early dinner before your midnight start. Overnight at camp.

Day 06 :
Summit to Mweka Camp (2,985m)

Begin your climb around midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After enjoying the summit, descend for 5–6 hours to Mweka Camp (2,985m). Overnight stay.

Day 07 :
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640m)

A 3–4 hour trek through the rainforest takes you back to Mweka Gate. Transfer to your hotel in Arusha for rest and recovery.
